Troubleshooting

NEED HELP PLAYING THE VIDEOS?

Q: I have problems streaming the videos.

A: Streaming issues can be related to a variety of things, including internet and/or network issues. Here are a few simple things to try first, before addressing some of the more complex issues.

1. Try using a different browser
Google Chrome and Firefox tend to work reliability for PC users. For Mac, give Safari at a try. Also make sure your browser is updated to the latest version. You can download Chrome, Firefox and Safari for free.

2. Clear Your Cache
You can find instructions for the differen browsers HERE.

3. Check whether hardware acceleration is enabled on your browser.

Chrome
Customize and Control Google Chrome (top-right corner) -> Settings -> Show Advanced Settings -> System -> Check “Use hardware-acceleration when available” -> Restart Chrome

Firefox
Tools -> Options ->Advanced ->”General Tab” -> Select “Use hardware acceleration when available” -> Restart Firefox

Internet Explorer
Start -> Internet Explorer -> Tools icon in upper-right corner -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Accelerated graphics -> Select “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering” -> Apply -> restart computer.

Q. The video is not playing. I just see a blank screen.

A. There are several things that can prevent a video from playing on your computer. Check to see, if you have any installed. You can temporarily disable these programs one at a time, to see if any are interfering with playing the video.

1. Antivirus program
2. Firewall
3. Any kind of internet filters, like child lock programs.

The issue could also be related to a browser extension.

For Chrome, open a new window in incognito mode and see, if the video plays.

For Firefox, use Firefox in Safe Mode, to see of the video plays. To enable Safe Mpde, clock on Help in your menu bar -> restart with Add-Ons Disabled.

If you are on a shared or corporate network, there may be settings preventing you from playing the video. In this case, it would be best to check with your IT person.

Q. The video is buffering a lot

A. Your internet connection may not be fast enough to stream high quality video.
1.Close any other applications in your computer.
2. If you are on a shared network, check to see, if others are using the internet at the same time.
3. Change the quality settings for each video.

Hover over the video so the play bar appears -> click on the gear icon -> select one of the lower video qualities and play the video again.

Q: I cannot hear the audio

A: Here are a few things to check:

1. See if the audio signal is being sent to an audio board or sound system. You may have control the audio using the equipment (like a sound system) instead

2. If you are playing the the video through a TV, make sure you are on the correct input. You may have to change the input source with your TV remote, before you will see the PC screen.

3. Make sure that the volume is turned up on the video player by hovering over the play bar and turning up the volume (the little speaker icon). If there is an X through the speaker icon on the play bar, your audio is muted. Click and drag up the volume, to unmute.
